Cookie Policy
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We also use "local storage", which works in a similar way. This policy explains what we use on acumensoftware.com and in the Acumen Kakeibo app at app.acumensoftware.uk. It complements our Privacy Policy.
The short version
We only use cookies and storage that are strictly necessary for the site and app to work. We don't use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies, so we don't need to ask for your consent. If we ever add them, we will update this policy and ask for your permission before they load.
What we use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ak-lang | Local storage (acumensoftware.com) | Remembers your language (English or Japanese) | Until you clear it |
| acumen_session | First-party cookie (app.acumensoftware.uk), secure and not readable by scripts | Keeps you signed in and protects against forged requests | 30 days, or until you sign out |
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but you won't be able to stay signed in without the session cookie.
Fonts
We load the Noto Sans JP font from Google Fonts. This doesn't set cookies, but your browser sends your IP address and browser details to Google in order to download the font.
